Drone LiDAR Survey

LiDAR equipped drones can capture detailed information of terrain as well as specific points on the ground such as large structures. As the drone moves the LiDAR sensor can rapidly capture a large volume of relevant data. This provides a high level of accuracy over a large survey area for 3D modelling, mapping and visualisation.

LiDAR is particularly suited to vegetated environments, the lasers penetrate through gaps in the canopy revealing the ground below. The benefit of the low altitude flying with drones is their increased point density, often capturing up to 1,000 pts / sqm which provides a much richer definition of the ground and features.

LiDAR Drone NZ

Our LiDAR Drone is combined with the expertise of experienced personnel to ensure that captured data meets accuracy tolerances. We can cover difficult terrain and hard-to-access areas in a relatively short amount of time.

Some Typical Use Cases for Drone LiDAR Surveys:

  • Land development

  • Transport

  • Forestry

  • Utilities

  • Local Government
